Ingredients
- 3 pounds ground beef
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup diced peppers
- 1 cup diced zucchini
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon italian seasoning
- 1 tablespoon basil, dried
- 1 can diced tomatoes with basil, garlic, and oregano
- 1 can stewed tomatoes
- 8oz cans tomato sauce
How To Make glop over rice
-
Step 1Brown ground beef. Add salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. After beef is browned, taste the mixture to see if it needs any more salt, pepper, or garlic. If the beef tastes good, then the mixture will be delicious.
-
Step 2Now add the onions, peppers, and zucchini to the beef and sauté together for a few minutes while stirring. Add the three tomato products, Italian seasoning, and basil. Stir and simmer for ten minutes. Taste mixture to see if you need to add any more seasoning. You do not want your veggies mushy.
-
Step 3I usually start the rice just before I brown the beef. By the time the beef mixture is done, the rice is done. Using a bowl or plate add rice to the bottom and scoop on beef mixture on top. Enjoy!
-
Step 4This mixture freezes well, so I usually make extra to freeze for another meal.
