Ingredients

  • DUMPLINGS
  • 8-10 slices white bread, cubed
  • 2 - eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • - salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon marjoram, chopped
  • 1/8 tablespoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 - onion, sauteed
  • 1/2 - garlic clove
  • GOULASH
  • 3 pounds top round, cubed
  • 3 - lemons
  • 3 tablespoons paprika
  • 1/2 tablespoon cayene pepper
  • 4 - onions , diced
  • - salt and pepper
  • 2 bottles beer, dark
  • 1/2 bottle wine
  • 1 quart water
  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 6 sprigs thyme
  • 1 sprig rosemary
  • SOUR CREAM TO TOP OFF BEFORE SERVING

How To Make german gulash with marjoram bread dumplings and so

  • Step 1
    To Make the Dumplings:
  • Step 2
    Sauté onions for 5 minutes, add milk, and bring to a simmer. Pour over all ingredients besides the eggs.
  • Step 3
    Add egg when bread mixture is cooled down. Mix and form 3-ounce dumplings.
  • Step 4
    Boil in salted water for 5 minutes and sauté in 1 tablespoons of butter until golden brown.
  • Step 5
    To Make the Goulash:
  • Step 6
    Sear meat in brazier until brown. Add onions and sear again for 10 minutes, until onions are golden-brown.
  • Step 7
    Add all spices and herbs and sauté for 2 minutes. Add beer, wine, and water. Simmer in oven for 2 hours.
  • Step 8
    Serve with dumplings and side of sour cream.
