Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup balsamic or red wine vinegar
  • 8 ounces garlic cloves, minced
  • 4 teaspoons dried rosemary, crushed
  • 3.5 pounds 2 inch thick top sirloin steak

How To Make garlic and rosemary steak

  • Step 1
    Combine first five ingredients, pour into a liquid tight container or plastic bag, then add steak.
  • Step 2
    Refrigerate overnight, turning occasionally.
  • Step 3
    Bring steak to room temperature.
  • Step 4
    Preheat broiler 5 minutes.
  • Step 5
    Remove steak from marinade and pat dry.
  • Step 6
    Transfer marinade to heavy saucepan.
  • Step 7
    Broil steak to desired doneness, about 10 minutes per side for rare (125 degrees.)
  • Step 8
    Transfer to platter.
  • Step 9
    Let stand 10 minutes.
  • Step 10
    Bring marinade to a boil.
  • Step 11
    Thinly slice steak across grain.
  • Step 12
    Arrange on platter.
  • Step 13
    Serve, passing marinade separately.
