Came up with this recipe about twenty years ago and it is one of those that everyone seems to enjoy. My family loves it and so do just about everyone else...it is a success when I do serve it.

prep time 15 Min
cook time 30 Min
method ---
yield 6-8 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 1 package chopped smoked kielbasa, beef if possible, but if like pork, use that
  • 1 - chopped cabbage head
  • 1 tablespoon sea/kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon basil
  • 1 tablespoon parsley
  • 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup kernel corn
  • 1 cup chopped mushrooms
  • 3 tablespoons butter

How To Make fried cabbage and kielbasa

  • Step 1
Chop up the kielbasa and place in pam sprayed cast iron skillet or whatever pan you use. Turn to medium heat and stir occasionally to brown on all sides.
  • Step 2
While meat cooking chop up the all other ingredients and place in another skillet to cook. Add the butter to this skillet and coat all the veggies.
  • Step 3
Turn the heat to medium and add the salt, pepper and other spices, stirring to mix it all over the veggies.Stir often so it won't burn. When done, add to the kielbasa and mix well, cooking on medium heat about five minutes longer to mix all the flavors together.
  • Step 4
Serve with cottage cheese and tomato salad with a roll. The flavor between the cold salad and hot main dish is terrific. Add my whole wheat cranberry, pecan muffin and you have a complete coarse for supper. As always, you may not always use same amount of spices as I do. Taste as you cook..
