Ingredients For french onion casserole

3/4 cbutter
-
2 lgonions, vidalia, peeled & sliced

3 ribscelery, sliced

1 loaffrench bread
-
2 Tbspall purpose flour
-
32 ozbeef broth, reduced sodium

1/4 cbrewed coffee
-
3 cswiss cheese, shredded
-
1 canfrench fried onions, cheddar flavor
How To Make french onion casserole

1In a large 2 qt pot, melt butter. Add onions; stir. Reduce heat & cover & cook 45 minutes; stirring every 15 minutes to caramelize the onions.

2After onions are caramelized, add celery & cook for 15 minutes.

3Meanwhile, slice the loaf of bread into 2" cubes & set aside.

4Then add flour & cook 5 minutes.

5Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

6Stir in broth & coffee & cook for 10 more minutes on medium.

7Pour the soup into a greased 9" X 13" baking dish & top with all the bread cubes; press down into the soup to make them all fit.

8Evenly spread swiss cheese & fried onions.

9Bake 15 minutes or until the top is crispy & browned.

10You can either serve on plates or in bowls, it's thicker than soup, really a casserole with gooey bread & cheesy topside.
