This is a flavorful twist on a Au Jus Beef Sandwich that I make with Burgers and use French Onion Soup. The key to this burger is to use crusty fresh bakery hamburger buns to sop up the juices! A burger that is big on flavor and so satisfying. One of my husband's favorites!

Ingredients

Add to Grocery List

1 lb
ground beef
1 can(s)
(10 1/2 ounces) condensed french onion soup
4 slice
cheese (any that you like)
4
bakery fresh crusty burger buns

How to Make French Onion Burgers

Step-by-Step

  • 1Shape the beef into 4 (1/2-inch-thick) burgers.
  • 2Heat a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add the burgers and cook until well browned on both sides. Remove the burgers from the skillet. Pour off any fat.
  • 3Stir the soup in the skillet and heat to a boil. Return the burgers to the skillet. Reduce the heat to low. Cover and cook for 5 minutes or until the burgers are cooked through. Top the burgers with the cheese and cook until the cheese is melted. Serve the burgers on the buns with the soup mixture for dipping.

Any side is great, even your simple oven baked fries!
