Ingredients

  • 1.25 pounds beef round steak
  • 8 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 large onion, cut into rings
  • 1 can french onion soup
  • 1 package herb stuffing dry mix
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 4 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese

How To Make french onion beef

  • Step 1
    Cut beef into 6 serving-size pieces.
  • Step 2
    Layer half of the beef, mushrooms and onion in 3 1/2 to 4-quart slow cooker; repeat layers.
  • Step 3
    Pour soup over ingredients in slow cooker.
  • Step 4
    Cover; cook on low setting for 8 to 10 hours or until beef is tender and no longer pink.
  • Step 5
    Before serving, toss stuffing mix and contents of seasoning packet with melted butter and 1/2 cup liquid from pot.
  • Step 6
    Place stuffing on top of contents in slow cooker; cover.
  • Step 7
    Increase heat to high setting.
  • Step 8
    Cook 10 minutes or until stuffing is fluffy.
  • Step 9
    Sprinkle with cheese; cover.
  • Step 10
    Cook until cheese is melted.
