    beef chuck roast (average size)
  • 1 pkg
    au jus gravy mix
  • 1 can
    French onion soup
  • 1 can
    beef consomme
  • 8 slice
    provolone cheese
  • 8
    hoagie rolls/buns

How To Make french dip hoagies

    Put roast in a Crock Pot.
  • 2
    Sprinkle gravy mix on roast. Pour French onion soup and beef consomme over top.

    Cook on low heat for six hours. Cooking slowly ensures a more tender roast.

    When roast is done, shred it with a fork.

    Place open hoagie rolls/buns on a baking sheet.

    Place one slice (halved) of cheese on one side of each bun.

    Broil buns in oven for a few minutes until buns are brown and cheese is melty.

    Spoon a hearty helping of roast and gravy on each bun. Can serve open faced or closed.

    Spoon some of the remaining gravy into small, individual bowls for dipping.
