Ingredients
- 1 beef chuck roast (average size)
- 1 package au jus gravy mix
- 1 can French onion soup
- 1 can beef consomme
- 8 slices provolone cheese
- 8 hoagie rolls/buns
How To Make french dip hoagies

Step 1Put roast in a Crock Pot.

Step 2Sprinkle gravy mix on roast. Pour French onion soup and beef consomme over top.

Step 3Cook on low heat for six hours. Cooking slowly ensures a more tender roast.

Step 4When roast is done, shred it with a fork.

Step 5Place open hoagie rolls/buns on a baking sheet.

Step 6Place one slice (halved) of cheese on one side of each bun.

Step 7Broil buns in oven for a few minutes until buns are brown and cheese is melty.

Step 8Spoon a hearty helping of roast and gravy on each bun. Can serve open faced or closed.

Step 9Spoon some of the remaining gravy into small, individual bowls for dipping.
