My mom actually served this at my wedding rehersal dinner! Everyone loved it. It's great for a meal or snacks for the kids. Pair it with a salad and some fresh fruit and you have a complete meal.

Ingredients

1 1/2 lb
ground beef
10 3/4 oz
tomato soup
1 tsp
salt
1 dash(es)
pepper (to your taste)
1 tsp
oregano, dried (crushed)
1 Tbsp
worcestershire sauce
1 large
loaf french bread, sliced length-wise, spread with garlic butter and toasted
14 slice
tomato, sliced thin
12 slice
cheddar cheese, sliced in triangles

How to Make French Bread Bake

Step-by-Step

  • 1Mix meat, soup, salt, pepper, oregano and worcestershire sauce.
  • 2Spread evenly on both halves of the toasted french bread, covering edges completely.
  • 3Place both halves on a baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Remove from oven and top with alternating tomato and cheese slices. Return to oven long enough for cheese to melt. Slice and serve.
