Offered as part of my Ground Beef Favorites Collection from First Ladies. This is purported to be the favorite dish of Mrs. Robert Docking, Wife of Governor of Kansas I found these recipes in an old cookbook which has no name or any identifying labels.

Ingredients

2 pounds ground round
2 cans (8 oz ea) tomato sauce
4 ounces noodles
1 cup cottage cheese
3 ounces cream cheese
3 tablespoons sour cream
1/4 cup chopped green onion
1/2 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese (optional)

How To Make first ladies / hamburger-noodle casserole

Step 1

Brown meat; drain grease. Add tomato sauce. Boil noodles until tender

Step 2

Mix cottage cheese, cream cheese, and sour cream until smooth. Add onions and noodles to cheese mixture
Step 3

Grease an 8 inch square pan and add cheese mixture. Pous meat and tomato sauce on top.
Step 4

Bake in 350 F oven for 40 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting into serving portions.
