family favorite meatloaf
I received this recipe from a friend and with a few tweaks over the years, I have perfected it so much that now even my husband can get out the recipe and make this one. My now-grown children have called and asked for this recipe and I think this one is officially one of those that will be passed down through the family. I hope you enjoy this as much as we do.

Ingredients
- 3 lbs - ground beef
- 2 - eggs
- 1 - medim onion, diced
- 2 teaspoons garlic salt
- 3/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 - 8 oz cans tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 3 cups corn flakes, crushed after measuring. 1 c. crushed
- FOR THE SAUCE
- 1 - 8 oz cans tomato sauce
- 1 can water
- 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
- 2 tablespoons splenda blend brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard
How To Make family favorite meatloaf

Step 1Preheat oven to 350. Into a large bowl combine ground beef, eggs, diced onion, tomato sauce, ketchup, garlic salt, pepper and crushed corn flakes. Mix well.

Step 2Pour out the meatloaf into a 9 x 13 baking dish and form into a large loaf making an indentation in the top of the meatloaf for the sauce. (see photo)

Step 3Now make the sauce. Whisk all the sauce ingredients together: tomato sauce, water, vinegar, splenda brown sugar and mustard

Step 4Pour the sauce over the meatloaf in your pan.

Step 5Make sure you get some in the indentation on top of the meatloaf.

Step 6Cover with foil and bake 2 hours. BASTE OCCASIONALLY! Remove foil during the last 30 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken.

Step 7Remove from oven and let sit uncovered for 5 minutes before cutting.
