carrots, peeled and sliced
potatoes, peeled and sliced
onion, thinly sliced
whole tomatoes, undrained and chopped
How to Make English Beef Pot Pie
1Place steak cubes in crock-pot.
2Combine flour, salt and pepper, toss with steak to coat thoroughly.
3Stir in remaining ingredients except biscuit topping and mix thoroughly.
4Cover and cook on low setting for 7 to 10 hours.
5One hour before serving, remove meat and vegetables from crock-pot and pour into shallow 2-1/2-quart baking dish.
6Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
7Cover meat mixture with biscuit topping.
8Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
11Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal.
12Add milk all at one time; stir well.
13Pat out on floured board; roll out to cover baking dish.
