Ingredients

  • 4 - beef cutlets, 4 ounces each
  • - southwest seasoning mix
  • 1.5 cups flour
  • 2 - eggs, slightly beaten
  • - vegetable oil
  • 2 cups roasted garlic mashed potatoes
  • 1/2 cup worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup white gravy

How To Make emeril's funky fried steak

  • Step 1
    In a cast-iron skillet, preheat the oil.
  • Step 2
    Heavily season each side of the cutlets with the southwest seasoning, season the flour with the southwest seasoning.
  • Step 3
    Dredge the cutlets in the flour.
  • Step 4
    Dip each cutlet in the beaten eggs, letting any excess drip off.
  • Step 5
    Dredge the cutlets back into the flour, coating each side completely.
  • Step 6
    Place the cutlets in the hot oil.
  • Step 7
    Fry the steaks for 3-4 minutes on each side.
  • Step 8
    Remove from the oil and drain on paper-lined plate.
  • Step 9
    Season the steaks with salt and pepper.
  • Step 10
    Mound the potatoes in the center of the plate.
  • Step 11
    Drizzle worcestershire sauce around the potatoes.
  • Step 12
    Lay the steaks on top of the potatoes.

    Spoon the gravy over the steak.
