Easy shepherds Pie

This is the very first thing my grandma taught my mom, and now I will teach my daughter, I have also used chicken or turkey and wow it is also a crowd pleaser as well, hope you enjoy and ps.. I have also used sour cream and onion chips

8-10 large
potatoes, peeled, boiled, and mashed
2 1/2 lb
hamburger/ onions and seasoning to your own liking
2 pkg
brown gravy mix
1 pkg
salted potato chips all crushed up


1As the potatoes are mashed, set aside until hamburger is done, season to your own liking, in a large round casserole and oven safe dish place half the potatoes in and form a round scooped area and fill with the hamburger and make gravy thicker by adding less water to the package, top the hamburger with the gravy then cover with remaining potatoes
2crunch the package of chips and coat the top of the potatoes and place in oven for up to 20 min until golden brown, just until all is warm throughout. then let sit for about 10 minutes and cut like pie and it is delicious...been a crowd pleaser for 3 generations :)
