These meatballs freeze well so don't be afraid to double or triple the recipe. This is a basic meatball, so don't be afraid to mix spices into the raw meat mix to create Italian, BBQ, whatever your menu calls for.

By mixing everything in the food processor, you save at least 10-15 minutes prep time and the meatballs have a better texture.

The 80/20 or 85/15 mix keep the meatball juicy. Leaner mixes tend to dry them out after baking.

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 lb
    80/20 or 85/15 ground beef
  • 1 small
    can evaporated milk
  • 1 c
    quick oats
  • 1
    egg
  • 1/4 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1/2 c
    finely minced sweet onion
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground pepper
  • 1/2 tsp
    smoked paprika
  • BBQ SAUCE

  • 1/2 c
    ketchup
  • 1/2 c
    bbq sauce (jack daniels or bullseye preferred)
  • 1/2 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1/4 c
    finely minced sweet onion

How to Make Easy & Delicious Meatballs

Step-by-Step

  1. In food processor mix oats and dry spices until finely ground and mixed.
  2. To food processor add egg, onion, and evaporated milk and mix together.
  3. In large mixing bowl combine ground beef and spice/wet mix and thoroughly incorporate them.
  4. Lightly spray edged baking tray with non-stick spray
  5. Roll into golfball sized meatballs and place closely on tray.
  6. Pour sauce over meatballs. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hr.
  7. Drain any grease off meatballs. Transfer to crockpot on low for potluck/tailgate (make extra sauce for crockpot) or serve in as main course.
