This is such an easy thing to throw together first thing in the morning and leave to cook on LOW until dinnertime. Now I don't always brown my meat to make a stew. Sometimes I do and sometimes I'm just too lazy to bother...this was one of those times.:)Now I'd say I turned this on around 6:45 am and it was ready to go around 3pm. I turned it to warm and ate around 4:30pm. Cooking times may vary. If it isn't tender, just keep it on longer.

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds beef stew meat
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 stalks celery ribs
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 cups beef broth (canned or using bouillon cubes dissolved in 2 cups boiling water)
  • 4 tablespoons french's extra tenderizing™ worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • - flour (enough to coat meat)

How To Make easy crockpot beef stew

  • Step 1
If the beef stew isn't already cubed into your preferred size, cut it down. Sometimes if I have huge chunks, I cut them into smaller cubes.
  • Step 2
Mix flour, salt and pepper together. Toss stew meat in the mixture. (How you choose to go about doing this is up to you. I just dumped the mixture onto the meat and stirred it around. You could toss it in a bowl with a lid to it or put in a plastic bag and shake it up-whatever works for you.)
  • Step 3
(At this point you could heat up some oil in a large pan and brown the beef but I was too lazy to do this.) Add meat to crockpot. Add chopped onion, celery, minced garlic. Pour broth and worcestershire sauce over the meat. Give it a stir.
  • Step 4
Cover with lid and set to LOW. Cook for 8-9 hours or until tender. Serve over rice or mashed potatoes.
