easy beef stew
I basically made this up this evening. My family likes stew, and I never make it, so I got creative in the kitchen tonight!

Ingredients
- 2 pounds beef stew meat
- 3/4 cup flour
- 4 cups beef broth
- 3 pounds potatoes, peeled, cut into quarters
- 1 package baby carrots, about 50
- 2 packages brown gravy mix with 1 cup cold water
- - salt, pepper, garlic powder, bay leaf
How To Make easy beef stew

Step 1Dredge Steve beef in flour. Brown in a large saucepan using 2 Tbsp oil. Usually 2-3 batches adding more oil as needed. Medium heat. When done, return beef to saucepan.

Step 2Add beef broth, carrots, potatoes, salt, pepper, garlic powder to taste, and 1 bay leaf. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer 1 hour on low medium.

Step 3About 10 minutes before it's done, add 2 packages brown gravy mix that you have mixed with 1 cup cold water. Stir this in and add a splash of any dry red wine or cooking wine, stir, cover and simmer until gravy is thickened and veggies are tender.
