Ingredients

  • 2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/4 c
    onion, chopped
  • 2
    eggs, beaten
  • 2 tsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 1.5 c
    cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 3 Tbsp
    mayonnaise
  • 4 tsp
    dill pickle relish
  • 4 tsp
    mustard
  • ·
    lettuce, shredded
  • 6 slice
    onion
  • 6
    hamburger buns
  • 6 slice
    tomato

How to Make Double Decker Burgers

Step-by-Step

  1. In a large bowl, combine the first six ingredients; mix well.
  2. Shape into 12 thin patties.
  3. Broil 4 inches from the heat for 7-8 minutes on each side or until no longer pink.
  4. In a small bowl, combine cheese, mayonnaise, mustard and relish; mix well.
  5. Spoon 2 tablespoons of mixture on each burger.
  6. Return to the broiler just until cheese softens.
  7. Place lettuce and onion on bottom of buns; top each with two burgers, tomato and top of bun.
