This was my husband's favorite spaghetti sauce. I used it on everything from spaghetti to lasagna. It's simple and freezes well.

  • 3 Tbsp
    vegetable oil
  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 3 Tbsp
    dry onion soup mix
  • 16 oz
    tomato paste
  • 14 oz
    tomato sauce
  • 1/2 c
  • 1 tsp
  • 1/4 Tbsp
    garlic salt
  • 1/2 c
    celery, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp
  • ·
    sliced mushrooms, optional
  • 1 Tbsp
    brown sugar

How to Make Don's Favorite Spaghetti Sauce


  1. Brown beef in oil. Add rest.
  2. Simmer at least 30 minutes, covered. Simmer 10 to 15 minutes uncovered.
