Ingredients
- 2-3 pounds stewing beef
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 stick butter
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons pepper
- 1/2 cup white wine for deglazing (optional)
- 1 large onion (sliced into ¼” strips)
- 1 large garlic clove (minced)
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup worcestershire sauce
- 4-4 oz cans button mushrooms
- 16 ounces sour cream
- 16 ounces wide egg noodles (cooked per package instructions)
How To Make diane’s beef stroganoff

Step 1Heat oil and Butter on medium high heat in a large Dutch oven.

Step 2Mix salt and pepper with flour and toss with beef to coat.

Step 3Brown beef in Dutch oven remove and set aside.

Step 4Deglaze pan with white wine and add the onions and garlic, sauté till tender.

Step 5Return browned beef to the pan.

Step 6Add ketchup, Worcestershire Sauce and the juice of the canned mushrooms into the mixture. (Set the mushrooms aside)

Step 7Reduce heat, cover and braise for 2-3 hrs or until tender

Step 8Mix in Sour cream and mushrooms and heat trough (5min)

Step 9Serve over egg noodles with warm crusty Italian bread on the side.
