Ingredients

  • 1 large hard roll, dry
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 - chopped onion
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 4 - onions, sliced

How To Make german beef steaks

  • Step 1
    In a small bowl soak roll in water.
  • Step 2
    Heat 2 tablespoons vegetable oil in a frypan; cook chopped onion until lightly browned.
  • Step 3
    Transfer onion to a bowl.
  • Step 4
    Squeeze roll as dry as possible and mix roll with onion.
  • Step 5
    Add ground beef; blend well.
  • Step 6
    Season with salt and pepper.
  • Step 7
    Shape meat into 4 patties; cook about 5 minutes on each side or to desired doneness.
  • Step 8
    Remove and keep warm.
  • Step 9
    Add sliced onions to pan drippings; cook until lightly browned.
  • Step 10
    Arrange beefsteaks on a platter and top with onion rings.
