Ingredients

  • 1 can(s)
    condensed french onion soup
  • 1 1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/2 c
    dry bread crumbs
  • 1
    egg
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/8 tsp
    ground black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1/4 c
    ketchup
  • 1/4 c
    water
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp
    dry mustard
  • 3 medium
    bell peppers, sliced
  • 2 medium
    onions, sliced

How to Make Dennis' Salisbury Steak

Step-by-Step

  1. In a large bowl, mix together 1/3 cup condensed french onion soup with ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, salt and black pepper. Shape into 6 oval patties.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown both sides of patties. Pour off excess fat. Remove patties from the pan and add sliced onions and peppers and saute until softened. Add patties back to pan.
  3. In a small bowl, blend flour and remaining soup until smooth. Mix in ketchup, water, worcestershire sauce and dry mustard. Pour over meat, onions and peppers in the skillet. Cover and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
