How To Make dana's super yummy spicy beany and beef burger
-
Step 1Rinse your beans in a mesh strainer with running cold water. Rinse well until the water runs clear. Place your rinsed beans in a large bowl and mash them up with a potato masher. You will have some chunks which is fine.
-
Step 2Crumble your lean beef, (can also use turkey or chicken), add your seasonings. Next either use a spoon or your hands, and mix the burger well. Place about a spoon full of the burger mix in a hamburger press or shape with your hands.
-
Step 3Take 2 slices of the lowest sodium cheese you can find). I used monteray jack. Fold in half and fold in half again to create 2 small squares and place in the center of your burger, top with more burger and seal the seams well. Repeat with the rest of your burger mix.
-
Step 4You can grill them on an outside or inside grill or broil them in the oven. Top with more cheese, this time I used swiss, place in a wholewheat roll, and add your favorite toppings. The spices are super in this and we didn't want to cover up those flavors so we used just a little brown mustard. Enjoy.
-
Step 5I made 6 burgers with this recipe. You can make them smaller or larger. The choice is yours.
-
Step 6Notes: The ground flax seed is a very good source of Omega-3s. I use it on and in just about everything from my salads, soups, stews, eggs, sauces, and ground meats.
