When I was growin-up my dad would make this dish and mom would make her gravy out of pan dripping.

  • 1/2 c
  • 1 can(s)
    dice tomatoes

    larg green pepper
  • 1/2
    chopped olives
  • 1/2 c
    olive oil

How to Make Dad's Swiss Steak(Marty Burks)


  1. My dad didn't use a meat malet he took a knife and slice hafe way through the meat not all the way through criscrosse the meat on both side. Heat a iron skillet with oil. Salt& pepper flour. Dust both side of meat. Place meat in hot oil brown both side. Copped onion,carrot,green pepper.
  2. Add chopped veggies on top of meat add tomatoes,olive. Add water about 1/2 c. to the meat. Cover whith a lid and simmer for 3hr.
  3. Take the meat out of skillet. With the dripping make a gravy.
