Haven't made Swiss steak in forever. I found this recipe in Grandma's Favorite Dinners cookbook.

  • 3 lb
    thin top sirloin steak
  • 1 large
    onion, cut in chunks
  • 1 can(s)
    whole kernel corn, undrainned
  • 1 can(s)
    whole tomatoes, undrainned and cut up
  • 2
    celery stalks cut up in small pieces
  • 1 tsp
    italian seasoning
  • ·
    salt & pepper or your favorite seasoning

How to Make Crockpot Swiss Steak


  1. Cut up steak in small pieces. Sprinkle both sides with seasoning. In a large frying pan, spray with non-stick spray. Brown and place in crockpot. In the same frying pan add rest of ingredients and simmer for 5 minutes;add some more seasoning to mixture. place over the top of the meat. Cook for 8 hrs on low setting. Serve with rice or mashed potatoes.
