This is a fabulous dish to serve after a day of shopping or after a sporting event. Warms you up! This recipe was given to me by my dearest friend 38 years ago who has since passed away so not only does it taste great but it has a lot of memories of wonderful times.

Ingredients
- 4 pounds beef chuck roast
- 2 - onions, sliced
- 1 can beef broth
- 1/3 cup brown sugar, lightly packed
- 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
- 8 - gingersnaps, crumbled
- - salt and pepper
How To Make crockpot sauerbraten

Step 1Sprinkle salt and pepper on roast. place in crockpot.

Step 2Add onion,broth,brown sugar, and vinegar. Cover tightly and cook on High for 5-6 hrs.

Step 3Remove roast, cover with foil to keep warm. Add crumbled gingersnaps to crockpot and stir until thickened.

Step 4Slice meat and spoon sauce over it. Great served over buttered noodles
