Flank steak is inexpensive, and oh so delicious when cooked this way. Best thing about this recipe - it uses ingredients you most likely already have around the house.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb
    flank steak, cut in half
  • 1 sm
    can of green chiles
  • 1 lg
    onion, sliced
  • 1/4 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp
    brown sugar
  • 1 tsp
    chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    cumin
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 1 Tbsp
    olive oil, extra virgin (or regular, whatever you have on-hand)
  • 2 clove
    garlic, minced

How To Make

    In a frying pan, brown off your flank steak on both sides in the oil.
  • 2
    Add all ingredients into the crockpot.
  • 3
    Cook on low for 4 hours if you prefer it sliced, or 5 hours if you prefer it shredded. I served this with mashed potatoes and broccoli, and it was a huge hit!
