Ever have a craving for lasagna, but didn't have the patience to construct it? Well let your crock pot take care of that for you! This tasty recipe is a cross between a baked ziti casserole and traditional lasagna. It is very easy to make and will please everyone in your family.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound sausage, italian or sage
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes, 28 oz.
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil, dried
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano, dried
  • 1/2 teaspoon sage, dried
  • 3 jars 26oz. spaghetti sauce (pick a flavorful one!)
  • 2 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 1/2 cups parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 box ziti, uncooked, 16 oz.

How To Make crock pot ziti lasagna

  • Step 1
    Spray crock pot with cooking spray.
  • Step 2
    In a large skillet, brown onion, sausage and garlic, breaking up the meat. When all are browned, stir in tomatoes. Warm through and set aside.
  • Step 3
    in a medium bowl, mix together ricotta cheese and 2 eggs. When well combined, add the basil, oregano and sage. Incorporate well. Then add 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese and 3/4 cup parmesan cheese. Mix well.
  • Step 4
    In bottom of sprayed crock pot, cover with 3 cups of spaghetti sauce. Then layer in 1/2 sausage mix, 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, 1/2 box of ziti, and 1/2 of ricotta mix. Repeat layers, starting with 3 more cups of spaghetti sauce. When second layering is complete, top with remaining sauce, ensuring it is spread to the edge of the crock pot all around. Then sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese and finish off with remaining parmesan.
  • Step 5
    Cook on low for 4 hours or until ziti is tender. Plate and enjoy!
