How to Make Crock Pot Swiss Steak

  • 1Tenderize meat by pounding with mallet. Mix flour, salt, pepper and garlic salt in a shallow bowl or plastic bag. Dredge the steaks in the flour mixture.
  • 2Heat oil in a skillet. Place coated steaks in pan and brown on both sides. Remove from heat.
  • 3Place bell pepper and onion slices in the bottom of the slow cooker. Place steaks on top and pour tomatoes over all. Add a small amount of water or beef broth to skillet to loosen brown bits; pour over steak.
