crock pot stew
This is an adoptee recipe. Haven't made it yet, but am looking forward to tasting the interesting combination of things in this dish. Will update when I get a chance to make it. :)

Slow Cooker Crock Pot

Ingredients
- 1 - onion, finely chopped
- 2 - minced garlic cloves
- 1 pound potatoes, scrubbed and cut in 3/4" chunks
- 1.5 cups cabbage, coarsely shredded
- 1 - sliced carrots
- 1/4 cup long grain rice
- 1 pound round steak, cut into 1" cubes
- 1.5 cups beef broth
- 3/4 cup red wine
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 teaspoons brown sugar, dark and firmly packed
- 1/2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1.5 teaspoons dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
How To Make crock pot stew

Step 1In large crockpot, combine onion, garlic, potatoes, cabbage, carrot and rice.

Step 2Add meat.

Step 3In 4-cup measure or similar bowl, stir together broth, wine, ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, thyme, chili powder, mustard and black pepper.

Step 4Pour mixture over meat and vegetables.

Step 5Cover crockpot and cook 1 hour on high.

Step 6Stir meat and vegetables into sauce, and cook an additional 6 1/2 to 8 hours on low.
