I was in the mood for something spicy tonight, but didn't really feel like cooking. Crock Pot to the rescue! Hope you enjoy this chili with a hint of chocolate.

Ingredients For crock pot spicy chili

  • 1 lg
    onion, diced
  • 1 lb
    lean ground beef
  • 1 Tbsp
    chili powder
  • 1 tsp
    allspice, ground
  • 1/2 tsp
    cayenne pepper
  • 2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp
    cocoa, unsweetened
  • 2 tsp
    garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp
    jalapeno pepper, minced
  • 2 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp
    vinegar
  • 1 can
    light red kidney beans, 15 oz.
  • 1 can
    dark red kidney beans, 15 oz.
  • 1 can
    corn, 15 oz.
  • 1 can
    diced tomatoes, 28 oz.
  • 1/2 c
    beef broth
  • salt, to taste
  • cooking spray

How To Make crock pot spicy chili

  • 1
    Use cooking spray to coat inside of cock pot.

    In skillet, lightly brown ground beef. Do not over cook, it will finish cooking in crock pot. You are mostly doing this to break up the meat.

    Then add ingredients to crock pot in order listed. Cook on high for 1 hour, then stir to thoroughly combine all ingredients.

    Continue to cook on high for another 4 hours. Serve with crusty bread or crackers.

    NOTE: Can be cooked on low for 6 - 8 hours or done entirely on stovetop.
