Well, everyone who tries it loves it.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Combining two classics - a Philly cheesesteak and a French dip - creates a fantastic sandwich combination. The roast cooks all day low and slow making the meat very tender. It's perfectly seasoned and the broth is great for dipping. A great option if you're serving a crowd or just want to be lazy but still need to prepare a meal.

How To Make crock pot french dip philly

Test Kitchen Tips
We cooked the onions and bell pepper in a skillet before serving. And, we opted to melt the cheese and toast the buns.
  • Roast in a Crock Pot with seasonings.
    1
Put roast in a 6 qt Crock Pot. Use a good coat of all the seasonings listed. Add Lipton onion soup mix.
  • Adding beer to the slow cooker.
    2
    Add a beer (I use a Bud).
  • Adding beef broth to the slow cooker.
    3
Add 2 boxes of beef broth (roast should be completely covered).
  • Roast cooking in a slow cooker.
    4
Turn the Crock Pot on low/med and go to work. Cook for 4-6 hrs till falling apart. Could be longer according to how your Crock cooks.
  • Cooked beef shredded.
    5
Now I shred mine with a fork.
  • Toasting bread and melting Swiss cheese.
    6
If you like, you can toast the bread and melt the cheese.
  • Slightly cooked peppers and onions on top of shredded beef.
    7
Now this is the way I prefer...Slice the onion and bell pepper very thin. Use some juice and saute them on the stove. Add to the sandwich with a chunk of meat.
  • Serving juices alongside the sandwich.
    8
Use the juice from the Crock Pot to dip your sandwich in.
