1Heat enough oil in a fry pan to brown steaks.
Salt and Pepper the steaks.
Coat all pieces in flour.
Brown each steak on both sides then put in crock pot or slow cooker.
2When done Browning steaks, saute onion in fry pan and add to crock pot. Add mushrooms now too.
Put about a good Tablespoon of beef base in about 4 cups of water, along with salt and pepper to taste.
Add this to crock pot, making sure you have enough liquid to cover steaks well. Turn on low and let cook for 4-6 hours until fork tender.
3I like to dip out about 2-3 cups of the liquid and put in sauce pan heat on stove top until hot.
Mix cornstrach with about a cup of water and add slowly to beef liquid and stir, stir, stir until thickened. Add this to the cube steak in the slow cooker and turn up on high for about the last 30-40 minutes and allow to thicken.
