stew beef, cubed
1/2 c
flour
2 Tbsp
oil
1
bay leaf
1 Tbsp
worcestershire sauce
1
chopped onion
1 c
beef bouillon
1/4 tsp
pepper
2 tsp
salt
1 tsp
sugar
6
sliced carrots
1 c
sliced celery
4
potatoes, cut up
12 small
pearl onions
4 c
water

How to Make Crock Beef Stew

Step-by-Step

  • 1Coat meat with flour and set excess flour aside.
  • 2In skillet, heat oil and brown meat.
  • 3In crockpot, combine beef, worcestershire sauce, bay leaf, onion, bouillon, salt and pepper, sugar and vegetables.
  • 4Pour water over all.
  • 5Cook on low heat 8 to 10 hours.
  • 6Turn to high and thicken with flour.
  • 7Cook for 15 more minutes, then remove bay leaf.
