Ingredients

  • 2 lb
    stew beef, cubed
  • 1/2 c
    flour
  • 2 Tbsp
    oil
  • 1
    bay leaf
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1
    chopped onion
  • 1 c
    beef bouillon
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    sugar
  • 6
    sliced carrots
  • 1 c
    sliced celery
  • 4
    potatoes, cut up
  • 12 small
    pearl onions
  • 4 c
    water

How to Make Crock Beef Stew

Step-by-Step

  1. Coat meat with flour and set excess flour aside.
  2. In skillet, heat oil and brown meat.
  3. In crockpot, combine beef, worcestershire sauce, bay leaf, onion, bouillon, salt and pepper, sugar and vegetables.
  4. Pour water over all.
  5. Cook on low heat 8 to 10 hours.
  6. Turn to high and thicken with flour.
  7. Cook for 15 more minutes, then remove bay leaf.
