This is the first Crock Pot recipe I tried, when I got my first one in 1986. I have tweeked it in the years since. My family loves it, and as my family has grown, so has my Crock Pot and recipe.

Slow Cooker Crock Pot

2 lb
cube steak
1 medium
onion, sliced
1 can(s)
cream mushroom soup
1 can(s)
cream of celery soup
1/2 can(s)
water, in each can
1 Tbsp
garlic salt
1 tsp
1 c
flour, seasoned (enough to dredge meat in)
3 Tbsp
vegetable oil

How to Make Creamy Swiss Steak


  • 1Season meat with garlic salt and pepper, then dredge in flour. (I like to season flour with garlic powder and season salt).
  • 2Heat oil in skillet on high heat, add meat and brown.
  • 3When meat is browned, add meat and onions to the crock pot in layers.
  • 4Pour soups and water on top.
  • 5Cook on low for 8-10 hours, or on high for4 - 6 hours.
  • 6Serve over rice, and enjoy!
