Ingredients
- 1-2 - steaks, your choice of cut
- 1-2 - puff pastry sheet, thawed
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 3/4 cup onion, diced
- 3/4 cup bell pepper, diced
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon salt( optional)
- 1 teaspoon black pepper(optional)
- 2 teaspoons liquid smoke
How To Make creamy steak ( kat's)
-
Step 1Slice steak into 1 inch chunks, dice onion and bell pepper, mince garlic. In a large skillet melt butter. Add steak, pepper, garlic, onion. Cook until steak is done, I like mine medium so I cooked the pepper and onions for a few minutes before adding the steak and garlic. Remember the steak will continue to cook after cream is added.
-
Step 2Add 3 tablespoons flour over steak and cook for 2 minutes. Add cream, salt, pepper, and liquid smoke, stir well, simmer and let cream thicken some. ( if it gets to thick just add a little water or milk to thin out some)
-
Step 3Cut puff pastry to the size you want ( I cut one sheet into 6 pieces)place on baking sheet, cut a couple of small slits into each piece and bake until golden brown.
-
Step 4Place pastry on plate and ladle steak and cream over
