country fried steak

My entire family loves this and I never have left overs. Its a comfort food recipe when served with mashed potatoes. Yum better then what I have ever gotten in a restaurant.

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 - egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 3/4 cup plain bread crumbs
- 4 - cubed steaks
- 1 cup vegetable or canola oil
- 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
How To Make country fried steak

Step 1In a 1 gallon ziploc type bag pour in flour, salt and pepper. Set aside.

Step 2In a bowl mix together egg and 1/4 cup milk. Set aside.

Step 3In another gallon ziploc type bag put in bread crumbs.

Step 4Put oil in frying pan or elctric skillet over medium heat.

Step 5Take one cubed steak and put it in the flour bag. Close and shake until thoroughly coated.

Step 6Take that steak and then dip it into milk mix bowl until all the steak is wet.

Step 7Now take that and drop it in the bread crumb bag. Close bag and shake until thoroughly coated.

Step 8Remove from bag and place into frying pan. Repeat with remaining steaks and fry them for 8 - 10 minutes turning half way through.

Step 9Remove from oil and place on a plate covered with paper towels. place paper towels over the top of them to absorb excess oil.

Step 10Drain all but 2 tablespoons from pan. Stir in 2 tablespoons of flour and brown. Add 2 cups milk and salt and pepper to taste. Stir until thickens.

Step 11Place meat on plate, drizzle with gravy and serve with mashed potaotes.
