yellow cornmeal
1 c
1/2 tsp
baking soda
3/4 tsp
1 can(s)
cream-style corn
1 lb
ground beef
1 large
finely chopped onion
1/2 lb
shredded cheddar cheese

How to Make Cornbread Pie


  • 1In a medium mixing bowl, combine the first 6 ingredients.
  • 2Blend thoroughly.
  • 3In a skillet, brown beef and onion; drain.
  • 4In a greased baking dish, spread 1/2 the cornbread mixture.
  • 5Cover this with all of the meat mixture.
  • 6Sprinkle meat with cheese.
  • 7Top with remaining cornbread mixture.
  • 8Bake at 375 degrees for about 45 minutes, or until done.
  • 9If desired, spread butter or margarine on top.
