Easy and old fashion delicious. This recipe has been around the family for about forty years. We don't know where it came from but I come from a family of southern cooks.

Ingredients
- 1 - boneless round steak - 1/2 inch thick
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1 - beaten egg
- 1/4 cup wesson oil
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 - medium sliced onion
- 1 1/2 cups milk
How To Make connie's country fried steak

Step 1Cut steak into 4 pieces

Step 2Coat steaks with flour, salt and pepper. I usually put the salt, pepper and flour into a plastic bag, add steak to coat.

Step 3Dip steak into egg

Step 4Dip steak into flour (save remaining flour)

Step 5Heat oil in skillet over medium heat

Step 6When oil is hot, add steak and brown on both sides

Step 7Add water and onion

Step 8Cover and simmer for one hour

Step 9Drain excess fat from skillet

Step 10Remove steak from skillet

Step 11Add 1/4 cup seasoned flour mixed with milk

Step 12Stir until mixture comes to a boil and thickens.

Step 13Serve gravy over steak
