colleen's stuffed peppers

This is one of my Husband's favorites. I grow the peppers and he comes home with the beef.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 - egg
  • 1/3 - cup chopped onion
  • 2/3 - cup of milk
  • 6-8 - buttery crackers ( i use dare cabaret crisp & buttery)
  • 4 - shakes of worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lawry's seasoned salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 large green bell peppers
  • 1 cup mild cheddar cheese
  • - for the sauce
  • 4 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup

How To Make colleen's stuffed peppers

  • Step 1
    Boil pot of water
  • Step 2
    slice peppers in half and seed. once water is boiling place peppers in the water and boil for 10 minutes.
  • Step 3
    mean while mix the first 9 ingredients together.
  • Step 4
    drain peppers under cold water, after cool enough to handle stuff with beef mixture.
  • Step 5
    spread sauce mixture over top and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Top with mild cheddar cheese and bake 5 more minutes or til cheese is melted.
