Ingredients
- 3-5 pounds beef chuck roast
- 1 - envelope of dry onion soup mix
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- - salt, pepper and garlic powder
How To Make classic pot roast
-
Step 1Preheat over to 250 degrees. Place the vegetable oil in a dutch oven over a medium high heat. Pat the roast dry then sprinkle salt, pepper and garlic powder on both sides of the chuck roast; rubbing it in. Place in dutch oven and brown well on all sides.
-
Step 2Turn off the heat, add the mushroom soup and dry onion soup mix and a 1/2 cup of water (no need to stir). Cover the dutch oven and place it in the preheated oven for approximately 2 1/2 hours. We serve ours with mashed potatoes and a vegetable or salad. Enjoy!
