church gathering sweet & sour meatballs
Years ago I went to our Church gathering for a pot luck dinner. My friend brought this crock pot and everyone loved it. Got the recipe from her and have used it ever since. Can also be made on your stove top.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 slice white bread, torn into pieces
- 2 pounds hamburger or ground turkey
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 - 20 ounce can of pineapple chunks
- 1/2 cup chopped green and red peppers
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 1/2 cups pineapple juice plus water to fill the cup
- 1/4 cup wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 4 - beef bouillon, cubes
How To Make church gathering sweet & sour meatballs

Step 1Mix together the first seven ingredients and shape into bals the size of walnuts.

Step 2In a large skillet brown in 8 tablespoons on shortening until brown on all sides

Step 3Add pineapple, green and red peppers to meat balls and cook until soft

Step 4To make sauce: mix sugar, salt and cornstarch.

Step 5Add vinegar, soy sauce and bouillon cubes

Step 6Heat to boiling and pour over meatballs

Step 7Simmer 20 to 30 minutes on low heat

Step 8Can be place in a crock pot after all is mixed together and cooked and kept on low heat for a pot luck dinner

Step 9Can also be served over your favorite rice
