No one in my family growing up were ever seafood lovers, so this is a chowder with beef & red sauce instead. It's even better after it's been in the refrigerator for a few days!

Ingredients For chowder

  • 1 1/2 c
    elbow macaroni, uncooked
  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 sm
    onion, chopped
  • 1
    green pepper, chopped
  • 14 oz
    can of petite diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 14 oz
    can of kidney beans, drained
  • 1 jar
    ragu spaghetti sauce, traditional flavor
  • sugar

How To Make chowder

  • 1
    Brown meat. Sautee onion with meat about five minutes. Drain.
  • 2
    Return meat & onions to pot. Add sauce, tomatoes, green pepper, kidney beans & a pinch of sugar. Check taste to see if it's salty/sweet enough. Cook on low for 2 hours.

    Add uncooked macaroni. Cook another 30 minutes on low.
