Chow Mein Burgers

I have no idea where this came from. My mom used to make them when she wanted a quick dinner. (it takes less then 20 minutes from start to finish). It is a great twist on sloppy joes and tastes ready good.

ground beef
1/2 c
chopped onion
16 oz can(s)
chopped suey vegetables, drained
1/3 c
cold water
3 Tbsp
soy sauce
hamburger buns
3 oz can(s)
chow mein noodles
2 Tbsp
corn starch

How to Make Chow Mein Burgers


  • 1In medium skillet, combine ground beef and chopped onion; cook till meat is lightly browned and onion is tender. Drain and return to skillet.
  • 2Add chop suey vegetables.
  • 3Stir water and soy sauce into cornstarch; stir into beef mixture
  • 4Cook 1 to 2 minutes, stirring to coat vegetables and meat.
  • 5Spoon mixture onto bottom halves of toasted hamburger buns.
  • 6Crumble a few chow mein noodles over each sandwich
  • 7Cover with top halves of hamburger buns and Serve.
