Chow Mein Burgers

I have no idea where this came from. My mom used to make them when she wanted a quick dinner. (it takes less then 20 minutes from start to finish). It is a great twist on sloppy joes and tastes ready good.

Stove Top


  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/2 c
    chopped onion
  • 16 oz can(s)
    chopped suey vegetables, drained
  • 1/3 c
    cold water
  • 3 Tbsp
    soy sauce
  • 8
    hamburger buns
  • 3 oz can(s)
    chow mein noodles
  • 2 Tbsp
    corn starch

How to Make Chow Mein Burgers


  1. In medium skillet, combine ground beef and chopped onion; cook till meat is lightly browned and onion is tender. Drain and return to skillet.
  2. Add chop suey vegetables.
  3. Stir water and soy sauce into cornstarch; stir into beef mixture
  4. Cook 1 to 2 minutes, stirring to coat vegetables and meat.
  5. Spoon mixture onto bottom halves of toasted hamburger buns.
  6. Crumble a few chow mein noodles over each sandwich
  7. Cover with top halves of hamburger buns and Serve.
