This was one of mamma's recipes! And one of our favorite wholesome meals growing up. Hope you enjoy.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Easy, easy, easy weeknight casserole recipe. Once you brown the beef, everything else is a breeze. You really get Asian flavors thanks to the soy sauce. The casserole is super creamy and hearty. Serve with a side salad and you have a meal the whole family will love. The Test Kitchen

Ingredients

  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 2 medium
    onions, chopped
  • 1 c
    celery, sliced
  • 1 can(s)
    cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken soup)
  • 1 c
    warm water
  • 1/2 c
    rice, uncooked
  • ·
    pepper to taste
  • 1 small
    can of mushrooms, undrained
  • 1/4 c
    soy sauce

How to Make Chinese-Style Hamburger Casserole

Step-by-Step

  1. Brown meat; drain.
  2. Mix meat and remaining ingredients together. Place in a 2-quart casserole dish. (Dish may be sprayed with cooking spray.)
  3. Cover and bake for about 1 1/2 hours at a 325 degree oven. (I uncover during the last 15 minutes). Bake until rice is done. Ovens may vary.
