My favorite recipe. You should try it at least once as written, but it's also great if you just brown the ground beef w/o the cornstarch.

Ingredients

  • 4 packages ramen oriental instant noodles (or other flavor)
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 pound thinly sliced cabbage
  • 1/2 pound thinly sliced onions
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 bunch finely chopped green onions
  • 1 large bell pepper, cut into thin strips
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

How To Make chinese chef

  • Step 1
    Crunch the noodles while in the packages. Set aside the spice packets. Boil the noodles in 2 1/2 cups water. Stir soften the noodles for 1 min. Remove from heat.
  • Step 2
    Mix the cornstarch and soy sauce into the meat. Heat 1/2 cup of oil to smoke in a large pot. Stir and brown the beef, making fine particles. Drain and discard the excess oil. Set the meat aside.
  • Step 3
    Pour 1/4 cup of oil in a large pot over high heat. Add onions, green pepper and cabbage with 1/2 cup of water. Top with the noodles, then the beef. Sprinkle the spices from the packets, the pepper and the green onions over top. Cover for 3 minutes. Mix all ingredients. Cook until vegetables are tender.
