Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 - onion, thinly sliced
  • 12 ounces whole kernel corn, vacuum-packed drained
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce with cheese
  • 16 ounces tomatoes, canned whole and undrained
  • 1-2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/3 cup stuffed olives, sliced
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1.5 cups tortilla chips, crushed

How To Make chili pie

  • Step 1
    Crumble meat into a deep, 1 1/2-quart, heat-resistant, non-metallic casserole.
  • Step 2
    Add onions and heat, uncovered, in microwave oven 7 minutes or until meat is browned and onions are tender.
  • Step 3
    Stir occasionally.
  • Step 4
    Drain off excess fat.
  • Step 5
    Add corn, tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder to taste and salt and pepper.
  • Step 6
    Stir to combine.
  • Step 7
    Heat, uncovered, in microwave oven 4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Step 8
    Arrange olive slices on top of meat mixture and sprinkle with cheese.
  • Step 9
    Heat, uncovered, in microwave oven 3 minutes.
  • Step 10
    Sprinkle with tortilla chips and heat, uncovered, in microwave oven 1 minute.
