Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb
    lean ground beef
  • 1
    onion, thinly sliced
  • 12 oz
    whole kernel corn, vacuum-packed drained
  • 8 oz
    tomato sauce with cheese
  • 16 oz
    tomatoes, canned whole and undrained
  • 1-2 tsp
    chili powder
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 1/3 c
    stuffed olives, sliced
  • 1/2 c
    shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1.5 c
    tortilla chips, crushed

How to Make Chili Pie

Step-by-Step

  1. Crumble meat into a deep, 1 1/2-quart, heat-resistant, non-metallic casserole.
  2. Add onions and heat, uncovered, in microwave oven 7 minutes or until meat is browned and onions are tender.
  3. Stir occasionally.
  4. Drain off excess fat.
  5. Add corn, tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder to taste and salt and pepper.
  6. Stir to combine.
  7. Heat, uncovered, in microwave oven 4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  8. Arrange olive slices on top of meat mixture and sprinkle with cheese.
  9. Heat, uncovered, in microwave oven 3 minutes.
  10. Sprinkle with tortilla chips and heat, uncovered, in microwave oven 1 minute.
