chili molasses marinated short ribs

Grilling. It doesn't get more American than that. I suppose one could grill an apple pie during a tailgate party at a baseball game. That would be pretty American. Nonetheless, the heat, the smoke and the seasoning of the grill all combine to provide incredible flavors. This marinade utilizes two often overlooked ingredients to make your grilled meats pop, coffee and molasses. This recipe can be used to marinate pork, beef or chicken also.

1 1/2 cups of marinade
Ingredients
- 1 - piece ginger, approximately 1 inch
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1/2 cup coffee, strong
- 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 - thai chili peppers (or 1 habanero)
- 4-5 pounds beef short ribs
How To Make chili molasses marinated short ribs

Step 1Peel and rough chop ginger.

Step 2Place all ingredents in food processor and puree.

Step 3Pour this marinade over your short ribs and marinade for 8 hours.

Step 4Remove short ribs from marindade reserving marindade for basting and grill low and slow until short ribs are tender basting a few times in the process.

Step 5Once ribs are tender, move over very high heat and quickly mark each side of the short ribs.
