This is from a very OLD cook book for kid friendly foods. Family Favorite in our house! Try it with ground turkey for a healthy alternative. WW points plus: with 80/20 ground beef - 9 per serving with regular ground turkey - 7 per serving

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons fat (your choice)
  • 1 large onion - chopped
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 or 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 3 1/2 cups tomatoes diced (can be canned, i used one large can)
  • 2 1/2 cups drained kidney beans (i use one can light, one can dark)

How To Make chili con carne

  • Step 1
    Heat fat in large pot
  • Step 2
    add and cook unitl transparent, stirring occasionally onion
  • Step 3
    Add ground beef to onion and cook until brown, breaking into tiny bits, with spoon or fork
  • Step 4
    Combine and stir in seasonings
  • Step 5
    Add in tomatoes and beans. Stir well.
  • Step 6
    Cover and let simmer for 45 min or longer Add more water if it becomes too dry.
  • Step 7
    Serve with your choice of toppings!
