Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef (i use lean)
  • 8 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons red chili powder
  • 4 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 cans undrained chopped tomatoes (28-oz cans)
  • 2 cans rinsed and drained pinto beans (16-oz cans)
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 - large bags of fritos
  • 1 1/2 pounds shredded mild cheddar cheese
  • 1 large yellow onion, chopped

How To Make chili con carne for frito pie (crockpot)

  • Step 1
    Brown the ground beef with the onion and garlic; cook through. Drain and place into crockpot. Add all of the ingredients (except the Fritos and cheese) to the crockpot, stirring until mixed. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours.
  • Step 2
    To serve: Add a handful of Fritos to a bowl, top with chil and some shredded cheese.
